Optics for all!! Yes, that also means bringing optics to its very place-The Institute of Optics.
“Introduction to research in Optics” is a short course conducted annually by the Instituto de Optica, CSIC. The course is an interesting combination of theoretical lectures, lab visits and hands-on workshops. This is a great opportunity for undergraduate students from all over Spain to know about advances in Biomedical research and make an informed decision about choosing Optics as career. This year program can be downloaded from here. IOSA organizes, every year, an interactive session on career development in Optics and Photonics for the participants. This year, we have invited Dr Giuliano Scarcelli, from the Wellman Center for Photomedicine. Dr Scarcelli does break-through research in microscopy and collagen cross-linking.
Dr Giuliano will deliver a 45 minutes talk on “Novel Techniques in Biomedical Imaging”. Dr Giuliano is travelling as a part of OSA’s travelling lecturer program. In addition to the lecture in the course, he will have an exclusive “Coffee with IOSA” session. At IOSA, we are sure that Dr Giuliano is going to be a great inspiration for being young role model as a successful researcher.
